How To Find Acceptable Frontsight Ammo

Finding ammunition in large quantities is becoming more difficult every day. Many people choose to stock pile sufficient amounts of ammunition to ensure availability for hunting or range shooting. Others keep large amounts available for competition shooting matches or qualification matches for law enforcement. Frontsight ammo is a viable retail and online resource for all of these situations.

Front Sight Firearms was started in 2011 because Russel May, the man who owns the company noticed that the cost of weapons and ammunition was becoming far too expensive for the average citizen to purchase. The reason for this price increase was attributed to extraordinarily high demand and dwindling supplies of these items. The solution he found was to create a company that could purchase these items in large numbers in an effort to lower retail prices to his customers.

As part of their program this company offers training boot camps in Nevada for weapons enthusiasts. In the camps they attempt to train participants in safe and effective use of their weapon of choice. Those enrolled are required to supply the ammunition used during their training. There are several different courses offered and every course requires a specific number of rounds to be purchased prior to beginning the classes. The number needed can be as high as sixteen hundred if the participant is using a semi-automatic weapon.

There are very stringent rules regarding the type of ammunition that can be used during the courses. The first and most important rule is there can be no reloaded bullets. Even bullets that have been reloaded in a factory are not allowed. These bullets can be very dangerous to the user because of variations in powder content, case fatigue from prior use or incorrect case sizing. Any of these can cause catastrophic firearm failure where the gun blows up and injures the user.

They also do not allow steel jacketed rounds to be used in rifles. The ammunition that is acceptable must be metal jacketed. Lead bullets without a jacket will not be allowed but lead rounds with full jackets are perfectly acceptable. As an extra measure clients are encouraged to test their ammunition with a magnet to assure the absence of steel jackets.

Acceptable bullet manufacturers include Remington, Winchester Federal Corbon and Speer. All of these brands can be purchased in gun shops and shooting supply locations nationwide. The problem most attendees are confronted with is transporting the ammunition to the course location. The extra weight costs if using commercial airlines can be phenomenal. Even air freight is expensive and there is a problem of storage if it arrives ahead of the customer.

Many have solved the storage problem by having the ammunition shipped to the hotel where they plan to stay and asking them to store it temporarily until they arrive. Unfortunately you will not be able to ship them to the training site unless you have purchased them from the Pro-shop operated by Front Sight.

When he began the business in 2011 Mr. May set a goal of supplying the highest quality products for the lowest possible prices for his customers. In the five years he has been operating his company he has been able to meet that goal and watch his company grow and expand to the level of success it maintains today.
