Why You Should Read A Chronological Bible

The existence of the Bible in more than one version and language has raised eyebrows in many ways. The sequential arrangement of occurrences in the Chronological Bible has been the subject of discussion for quite some time now. The nature of arrangement in most of these varieties fall short of recently established criteria.

The Jewish Septuagint has received acclaim from the vast majority as the credible original source of scripture. As a result, the closer a writing is to the Jewish masoretic texts and the Dead Sea Scrolls, the more scriptural will it be considered. These are the major documents trusted to contain the truth. The line of distinction though, is about salvation. While the Christians believe in the Messiahship of Jesus Christ, their Jewish counterparts postulate that since the time of the Patriarchal Abraham, the Messiah has not yet appeared.

Those who are followers of Jesus Christ know very well that He is the son of God who came to save us from sin. It is however quite unfortunate that a good majority do not mind to follow the genealogy of his birth recorded in the first chapters of St. Luke. Our Muslim brothers can thus easily confuse them that Maria mother of Isa is Mary mother of Jesus.

To escape falling victim to such misguided and baseless teaching of confusion, it is advisable for you to carry out frequent personal study. Going to church on worship day only is not enough. It is good to attend worship services and listen to how the scripture is interpreted. However, you should also go ahead and conduct personal study from which you can get a lot of information. For example, it is one thing to know that in John 11:35 The Lord wept and another to discover the cause of His anguish in this particular setting.

To read the Bible Chronologically, you will need a reading plan. You can get one from the back of the old King James Version that can help you to finish all the sixty six books in a year. There is also a wide variety of devotional readings available in bookshops. These ones depend on the topic you want to study deeply within a given period, for instance, Holiness.

In modern versions, getting the sequence is possible by following the footnotes and study notes that come with the packages. This possibility has come about thanks to theological researchers who have spent sleepless nights and hours of study. As a result, it has become possible to understand concepts that appeared complicated before. Understanding thus becomes easy.

The books being sequentially arranged is not the only aspect here. Even the verses in every chapter have been studied and reorganized. A complete story of human redemption from Satan can thus be derived from this arrangement. Genesis and Revelation thus come to agreement following a smooth continuum. The hustle of struggling to find the correlation between verses is therefore avoided.

The major preoccupation of the chronology is for us to understand and unravel the mystery of Jesus Christ. He is right at the center of the Holy Bible and other stories and occurrences are only there to make us know more about Him. He is the one who was promised to David, foretold by prophets and born of a virgin. Through His death and resurrection men have hope of enjoying eternity.
