This is why 13 Moroccan universities have chosen Google Apps For Education as main tool for students, teachers and administrative staff. Google Apps for Education is a completely free suite of applications hosted on the Internet, which enables communication and more effective collaboration among academic institutions. Cloud computing is a technology used by universities around the world, especially in the United States, where more than 60% of public universities have already adopted the following Apps for Education, including 61 of the top 100 prestigious universities in the country. With 13 public universities adopting to new education technologies, Morocco occupies a leading position in the African continent in term of innovation in education. These Moroccan universities have taken a big step forward to facilitate the best communication tools for students.
In addition to the collaborative advantages, this technology allows universities to drastically reduce their costs by eliminating purchases of software licenses, limiting investments in servers and reducing maintenance. All these tools are free and technical support is handled directly by Google on its own servers, thus allowing universities to focus on education rather than maintenance of servers.
